This painting explores the path of happiness within, the places of happiness inside myself, where they are, what makes those places light up, - the title of the piece translates as “hill of happiness” - that comes from the song “Ladeira Da Preguiça” - Gilberto Gil. It is a Ladeira, because for me happiness is not something that comes easy to me. I feel like the more conscious you are about yourself, the more you feel in depth, and I had to travel through a lot of feelings in other paintings before being able to complete this painting.
